21 – Clynelish 1993 26yr by Carn Mor Cask 112115

Nose is full of beautiful intense citrus fruit, fruit fizz, cream and leather. Roses and milk chocolate. And of course wax.

Palate is so elegant. Fruit more citrus and some bruised apples. Cream, honey. Flinty.

Finish is all hot warm double cream and minerality. This is a godlike finish.

22 – Blair Athol 1988 30yr by Sansibar 46.9%

Nose is all dusty berries… imagine raspberries and blueberries pulled out of a dusty draw. Warmed butter.

Palate is strawberry jam, chocolate and then gets some lovely savouriness. Some savoury passionfruit vine.

Finish jam, grass, cream… good!

23 – Clynelish 1997 21yr by The Auld Alliance & The Malt Affair 49.9% (10th Anniversary bottling)

Nose is cream, citrus, honey and wax. It’s classic. Squeezed apricots and pears?!?

Palate is honey beautifully with infused citrus and blossoms. Nothing is out of place. It is really balanced.

Finish savoury, baking spices and cream.

24 – Inchmurrin 1997 23yr by Liquid Treasures 48.5%

Nose is ginkgo nuts and beef marrow. Plastic and funky. Cloves.

Palate beef marrow, light peaches and apricot, tropical and pineapple syrup.

Finish medicinal, grassy and more stone fruit. And chalky?! Weird and wonderful.

Honey, salted butter, golden syrup, kiwifruit, pear nectar. Chocolate mousse, orange segments, salt, green herbs, grilled pineapple, vanilla pudding, green grass.


53 – Glen Garioch for Shinanoya Ginza 21st Anniversary Bourbon Barrel 657 15 Years
Egg nog, flat Coke, vanilla, pine, hazelnuts, rose petals. Musk, white pepper, sarsaparilla, crushed ants, vanilla, slight sulphur.


54 – Adelphi Longmorn 28 Years 1985
Slight motor oil, grilled pineapple, green tomatoes, black jellybeans. Malty bread with butter, green herbs, grilled pineapple, salt.

55 – The Exclusive Grains Port Dundas 1991 25 years Cask 50412
Salami, honey, lemon zest, roasted quails with salt and pepper sauce, soy sauce. Tropical fruit, oily fish, green garlic shoots.


56 – Distilleries Collection Miltonduff 17 Years 1996
Glue, honey, salty butter, caramel, dried peaches and pears. Dry cake mix, vanishes away to nothing, caramel and bitter herbs.

57 – Glendronach 2003 for Sansibar Cask 4630 PX Cask
Dried apricots, pancakes with butter, glacé lemon, orange syrup, cocoa, pencil shavings. Stewed apricots, Xmas spice, dark chocolate, sultanas, vanilla, orange blossom water, sarsaparilla and malt.

27 – Liquid Sun Miltonduff 1996 20 Years
Rockmelon, tropical fruit, milk chocolate, whipped cream, salt, light honey, yeast. Tropical fruit cup, green strawberries, pouch tobacco, caramel on an over ripe banana, salt, rock melon rind.

28 – SMWS 84.18 Sneezing in the sun (Glendullan) 14 years 2001 Sauternes Cask
Pine resin, intense candy sugar, preserved lemons, strawberry and apricot jam jam, underripe pineapple. Caramels, strawberries, oaky buttery funk, eucalyptus(?!), pepper.

29 – Sansibar Macduff 8 Years
Apricot jam, cream, scones, rock melon. Ice coffee – crazy big, with fruit and cream, cherries, cocoa.

20 – Liquid Treasures Clynelish 18 Bourbon Hogshead 1997
Tropical fruit, honey, pastries, salty butter, gooseberries, toffee apples. Pie crust, apples, salt, lard, bananas, cloves, mint.

21 – Arran Limburg Whisky Fair 15th and Arran 21st Anniversary Single Sherry Cask, no 913 1997
Bananas and cream, apricot nectar, shoe polish, lemon zest, crushed ants, how I imagine medlars smell, fruit straps. Lemon delicious, egg whites, egg nog, pepper, roasted corn, intense stone fruit reduction, salt.

22 – Sansibar Speyside very old selection
Sulfur, rubber, cream, leather, hairspray. Slightly medicinal, nutty, rubber, chocolate, match heads, plastic and raw cashews.

23 – Benriach 1998 triple distilled PX finish Cask 7758 for the Whisky Exchange
Stone fruit, leather, roast pumpkin, chocolate, strawberry jam, cake mix. Cake mix, dark chocolate, peaches, creamed sugar, slight rubber note, banana smoothie.
