9 – Asta Morris Glen Moray 2005 10 Years Cask AM032 fresh bourbon
Lemon balm, honey, glue, salt, vanilla yoghurt, lemonade, burnt matches. Chewy, butter, toast with apricot jam, green grass, lemonade spider.

10 – Asta Morris Caperdonich 1995 20 Years Cask AM021 ex-bourbon
Dusty kiwifruit, orange zest in custard, cake mix, vanilla and violets. Heavy cream, stewed apricots, passion fruits, salt, pound cake.

11 – Asta Morris Auchentoshan 1991 24 Years Cask AM044 Sherry hogshead
Stewed apple, sulphur, rubber, match heads, vanilla cream, wood varnish, toasted hazelnuts, cake mix. Christmas cake with brandy cream, maraschino cherries, salt, black tea, toast with butter and honey, marshmallows and musk.

12 – Maltman Hazelgrove 14 Year Sherry Cask, Cask 6
Honey, caramel, tennis balls, marzipan. Odd very sweet to begin with, leather, boot polish, caps and sulphur, stewed apple.

13 – Limeburners Directors Cut Barrel M123
Woody, pine sap, cherry flavored medicine, musk, skin, Mexican drinking chocolate. Holy god – musk, brown butter, hollow, medicine, flat Coke, licorice.

Whisky 2016 – 51-53

51 – Limeburners Port Cask
Candy apples, apple sours, brandy snaps. Creamy, peaches, vanilla, soft on the palate, loads of toasted coconut, green gooseberries, white peaches.

52 – Friends of Oak Bunnahabhain 6 Years 2014
Honey, sea salt, sea weed, slight charcoal. Green, smoky and sweet, slight creamy notes, cordial like.

53 – Signatory Ben Nevis 1991 24 Years
Plastic, pencils, grilled eggplant, buttered toast, preserved lemons, lime zest. Dusty, marmalade, chocolate, cream, coffee trifle.

Whisky 2015 – 92-93

92 – SMWS 120.7 (Hakushu) Sweet, fragrant and satisfying
Soy sauce, pepper, cloves. Rubber, vanilla cream, coffee trifle – almost like I’ve taken a spoonful of brown sugar. Quite dry.

93 – Limeburners Sherry Barrel Cask Strength
(You’ll think I’m crazy but the guys and I at Whisky and Alement problem solved this one) Pine wood shavings and (wait for it) frozen McCains pizza, specifically the frozen red capsicum on the pizza. Really vegetal like old cucumbers and wood. Not very nice.

Whisky 2015 – 12-18

12 – Kavalan Solist Vinho
Cola, apricot and formic acid. Loads of vanilla. Tasty.

13 – Springbank Society Members 8 year old
Earthy chocolate, sugar cane, maple wood and dried apricots. Intense fruit sweetness on the palate to begin with candy cane, tobacco, herbaceous, lemon pepper, cream.

14 – Hakushu Bourbon Barrel
Banana bread, cloves and all spice, citrus, vanilla ice cream and formic acid. Fairy floss, banana flavouring and banana fucking milkshake, toasted coconut, even slightly cheesy notes and meringue.

15 – The Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tobermory 19 years – Whisky Exchange
Coconut rough, rubber and vanilla essence. Dried figs and dates, slight rubber and vanilla.

16 – Glendronach 1994 PX barrel 326
Melted butter, cake mix and brown sugar. Butter, vanilla, woody, rock candy. Huge and delicious.

17 – Balvenie Portwood 21
malted vanilla milkshake, dusty, banana. Vanilla and quite underpowered for me. Disappointing.

18 – Limeburners Tiger Snake
Really big hit of cloves, lime zest and ever so slightly dusty. Great palate of cola, cloves, vanilla and coffee.
